Take 64 east, get off at the Greenbrier exit south, about a mile or so pass the mall on your right is           the park, you can't miss it.

If you chose to take the M&M tunnel:
You will need to get to 64 at Bowers Hill and head west, you will still have to take the Greenbrier             exit South

From the beach area take Interstate 64 west to Route 33 turn right,  go 7.7 miles turn left onto Route 30,  go 18.3 miles turn right onto Route 629, go 2.5 miles turn right onto dirt road. Sign says Locust Grove 1665.



From the South take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 64 East to Route 360 East, go approx. 21 miles, turn right onto Route 30 (Central Garage) go 6.5 miles, turn left onto Route 629, go 2.5 miles turn right onto dirt road.

From the North take Interstate 95 South to the Kings Dominion exit, Route 30 going east towards Kings Dominion stay on Route 30 for approx. 27 miles, turn left onto Route 629, go 2.5 miles turn right onto dirt road.

From the West take Interstate 64 East to  Interstate 295  to  Route 360  East , go approx. 21 miles, turn right onto Route 30, go 6.5 miles, turn left onto Route 629, go 2.5 miles turn right onto dirt road.



Walkerton, VA is a very small town and maybe hard to find at www.maps.com or yahoo maps. When all else fails look at a map. Good luck and hope to see you there.

Smithfield Event

From Newport News - Cross James River Bridge  Rt.17 . Go  to were  17 goes straight & 258 bears right. Stay on 258 until it comes to Bens Church. There will be a BP station on your right. Turn right . This is Rt.10.Stay on 10. You will come to a intersection at Smithfield. If you turn right it will take you to old town Smithfield. This way is slow. If you wish stay on Rt.10 till it comes to the intersection  of  258 & Rt.10. Turn right there. This Main Street. We will be camped half way down Main on the right. Look for a True Value Store. We are a couple lots past it.It looks like drive way between  the bank & a house. If by some chance you took the slow way.By the way this is old Rt. 10. Follow it till you come to a hill that has a intersection. There will be a mansion straight ahead of you. It will be yellow  gold. Turn left. We will be on the left.

From 460. Take 460 to Windsor. Turn Right. This is 258. Follow it to Smithfield. You will end up on Main Street.


From Suffolk follow CRT . 10 . When you get to Bens Church keep straight. Follow the directions as if coming from Newport News

Fort Pocahontas

DIRECTIONS FROM THEIR WEBSITE

Fort Pocahontas is located 16 miles west of Williamsburg and 37 miles east of Richmond on Virginia Route 5.
It is 5 miles east of the Charles City County Courthouse and 2.5 miles east of Sherwood Forest Plantation.

From downtown Richmond, follow Main Street East (Rt. 5 East). Proceed approx. 32 miles (approx. 47 minutes). Look for the signs located on Rt. 5 for Sherwood Forest Plantation. Go past Sherwood Forest Plantation approximately two (2) miles. Take the second right after passing Sherwood Forest, which is Rt. 614 (Sturgeon Point Road.) Stay on Rt. 614 (Sturgeon Point Road) until you come to the entrance gate for Fort Pocahontas. Registration and ticket sales are located at the fort entrance.

From I-95 South from Washington, follow the signs to I-295 South and take Exit 22A (Route 5, Charles City.) Look for the signs located on Rt. 5 for Sherwood Forest Plantation. Go past Sherwood Forest Plantation approximately two (2) miles. Take the second right after passing Sherwood Forest, which is Rt. 614 (Sturgeon Point Road). Stay on Rt. 614 (Sturgeon Point Road) until you come to the entrance gate for Fort Pocahontas. Registration and ticket sales are located at the fort entrance.

From I-64 West from Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, exit 242B (Jamestown/ Rt. 199 East) to Rt. 5 (John Tyler Memorial Highway.) Turn left onto Rt. 5 West (John Tyler Hwy) for 16 miles (approx. 30 minutes). Turn left onto Rt. 614**(Sturgeon Point Road.) Stay on Rt. 614 (Sturgeon Point Road) until you come to the entrance gate for Fort Pocahontas. Registration and ticket sales are located at the fort entrance.

**PLEASE NOTE: There are two Route 614s, the first one is located in James City County - this is NOT the correct 614. Please be sure to cross the Chickahominy River into Charles City County before turning onto Route 614.

Ft Branch

Fort Branch is located 3 miles southeast of Hamilton, N.C.
Just off NC Hwy 125/903 at 2883 Fort Branch Road
in Martin County on the Roanoke River

Directions to Fort Branch:

From Greenville: Take US 11/13 North toward Bethel. Turn right onto NC 903 at
Burroughs Wellcome Middle School. Follow NC 903 through the town of Stokes and
continue on NC 903, turning left at Crandell’s Store. Follow NC 903 through the town of
Robersonville, crossing over new US 64, until NC 903 dead ends into NC 125. Turn left
onto NC 125, go approximately 3 miles and turn right onto Fort Branch Road. The fort
will on your left. Parking area in field on the left just before the fort tree line.

From Rocky Mount and points west: Travel US 64 East and take the NC 903 exit at
Robersonville. Turn left at the top of the ramp. Follow NC 903 until it dead ends into NC
125. Turn left onto NC 125, go approximately 3 miles and turn right onto Fort Branch
Road. The fort will be on your left. Parking area in field on the left just before the fort
tree line.

From Elizabeth City and points north: Take US 17 South. Immediately after crossing the
Roanoke River, take a right into the deceleration lane and turn right onto Main Street.
Follow Main Street until the third stoplight and turn right onto Haughton Street (NC
125). Follow NC 125 North approximately 12 miles and turn right onto Fort Branch
Road. The fort will be on your left. Parking area in field on left just before the fort tree
line.

From Outer Banks and points east: Take US 64 West to Williamston. At the
Bojangles/Burger King intersection (there is a stoplight), go straight. Turn Right at the
next stoplight onto Washington Street (also known as NC 125 North). Go straight on this
road through downtown (you will cross over Main Street and Church Street) and continue
straight out of the town limits on NC 125. You will go about 10 miles on NC 125 and
turn Right onto Fort Branch Road. The fort will be about a mile or so on your left.
Parking will be in a field just before you get to the fort proper. You should see the cars.

From Washington and points south: Take US 17 North until the major intersection where
the Holiday Inn/Comfort Inn and Days Inn are located. At this intersection, continue
straight onto NC 125 North. Go straight approximately 12 miles and turn right onto Fort
Branch Road. The fort will be on your left. Parking area in field on the left just before the
fort tree line.

In the northern reaches of Isle of Isle of Wight County follow Route 10...make a right turn (north) onto Fort Huger Drive...After 3/4 miles, the road will split, take the right fork (Tyler's Beach Road). After 8/10 mile on Tyler's Beach Road, turn left on Woodmere Road and then another left onto Lawnes Neck Drive after another 3/10 mile. After about 1.4 miles, you'll reach Talcott Terrace (on the right). Turn right onto Talcott Terrace: the
parking lot for the fort will be on your immediate right.

Fort Huger
Historic Cold Spring Village

From points south:

By Ferry:

1.Head north to Lewes, DE and take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to New Jersey (check their website, capemaylewesferry.com, for rates). From the Cape May ferry terminal, take US Route 9 north. Historic Cold Spring Village will be approximately 4 miles from the terminal on your left.

By Land:

1.Take I-95 north to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Once over the bridge, take NJ Route 49 (Pennsville/Salem exit) and follow to Millville. At Millville, turn right on to NJ Route 47 south and follow until you reach US Route 9 in Rio Grande. Turn right on to Route 9 south. Historic Cold Spring Village is approximately 4 miles on your right. In Rio Grande, you will find supermarkets, a K-Mart and a Wal-Mart where you can purchase any supplies you might need.
or
2.Head north to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Once over the bridge, take US Route 40 east and follow to NJ Route 55.
3.Follow Route 55 to its end in Millville, where it merges with NJ Route 47. Bear left (south) and follow Route 47 to US Route 9 in Rio Grande. At Route 9, turn right and go approximately 4 miles south. You will see Historic Cold Spring Village on your right. This route is more rural and open, with fewer traffic lights.

From points west:

1.Head to the Walt Whitman Bridge and take the North/South Freeway (NJ Route 42). Follow Route 42 to NJ Route 55. Take Route 55 to its end in Millville where it merges with NJ Route 47 and follow directions above from #2 South.
2.Take the Commodore Barry Bridge to US 322 (east) and follow to NJ Route 47 (south) into the city of Vineland. Take NJ Route 55 (south) and follow directions above from #3 South.
3.Alternate route from the west: Head east to the Walt Whitman Bridge and follow the North/South Freeway (NJ Route 42) to the Atlantic City Expressway (the Expressway is a toll road). Follow the Atlantic City Expressway to Exit 7S and get on the southbound Garden State Parkway (also a toll road).
4.Follow the Parkway to its end and bear right. Go straight through the two traffic lights you will come to. Historic Cold Spring Village is approximately three quarters of a mile on your left after the second light.

From points north:

1.Take Interstate 295 south to NJ Route 42 (the North/South Freeway). Take Route 42 to NJ Route 55 and use directions given above in #3 South By Land.
or
2.Take the Garden State Parkway south to its end, and follow directions above in #4 West.

Important note for those using Route 47:

If you are traveling south on NJ Route 47, you will come to a fork in the road in Maurice River Twp. On the right will be Route 47 and on the left you will see NJ Route 347. Route 347 is a bypass route that will allow you to avoid some of the local traffic, as well as take a few miles off of your trip. Regardless of which route you choose, Routes 47 and 347 merge together again in Dennisville.
